Unlike traditional containers that are made from non-renewable petroleum based polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP), our containers are made from Ingeoâ„¢, a biodegradable and compostable plastic made from annually renewable corn.
Not only is Ingeoâ„¢derived from annually renewable corn, but it environmentally outperforms every major petroleum based plastic. Manufacturing of the new Ingeoâ„¢ plastic emits 77 percent less CO2 and consumes 56 percent less energy than the equivalent weight of PET.
Our Ingeoâ„¢ deli containers are also 100% biodegradable and compostable. Therefore to lower your footprint even more and to divert waste from landfills, consider composting used containers in a commercial composting facility.
