Our lids for hot cups and bowls are made from a biodegradable and compostable plastic called CPLA (polylactide aliphatic copolymer). CPLA is derived from renewable and sustainable resources such as corn and is heat stable up to 200 degrees F.
CPLA lids are an excellent alternative to traditional plastic lids. Note that composting is required for biodegradation and may take 180 days in a commercial composting facility.
